Choose the rectangular chain of ref.lines and the main path and click Create Solid Form. The allowable separation of the conduits has to do with the material between the conduits, and the current in each conductor. Duct bank corridors can be easily modified vertically with its corresponding profile. That’s why corridors are great features for modeling duct banks. One duct bank can change its cross-section several times along an alignment. Duct bank design is an exercise in thermal analysis. In my experience, Subassembly Composer has come in very handy when working with concrete-encased duct banks. Use schedule 40 (encased in concrete by 2 minimum). The NEC does recognize the limits on temperature. All new covers shall have manhole numbers welded on surfaces (TIG Weld). Firs we need to create a rectangular sweep with the main encasement shape. In short, no the NEC does not dictate the duct bank design. Now, one we have our two (adaptive)point spline with a rig on one of the point which hosts profiles for future sweeps we can start creating forms. Whatever, as a result by making my encasement family alined to the top right or top left duct center will enable me to draw this element from the plan view by just tabbing and snapping to the desired pipe center. A metallic backed marking tape shall be installed 12 above all underground conduits and duct banks. Do not use concrete blocks or other means to support and space conduits that are to receive concrete encasement. Moreover, not all the ducts banks have a duct running right on the center, for example in our case it is 4 ducts, however if it there were 5 ducts we could use the center one as an insertion/alignment. Construct, prepare, replace, and install conduit and conduit fittings of various sizes, as shown on the plans, in a duct bank encased in concrete. For concrete encased conduits use manufactured PVC spacers and mounts for support and spacing of the conduits. This is because in Revit MEP when you place a pipe or conduit and you use parallel pipes or ducts tool, usually you draw the parallel pipes from one side to another and it's always easy to snap to one side element rather than center.
